1. What strengths did you bring to your internship? When starting something new it's always hard to figure out what you can bring to the table. It's not a challenge between the group members to see who has the most beneficial strengths. however, we are all competitive and want to push each other to make the overall group a better group. I felt like I came in with wonderful ideas and people loved them. My whole life I have been entertaining people, so entertaining fans at sports events and selling merchandise was right up my corner. I was very excited to just start something knew, to get fans attention and to get them to purchase TU gear. Another strength that I had was making phone calls to outside local businesses, having the experience working as a ambassador at the university has helped me become comfortable in that area.
2. What were your major weaknesses? What personal qualities could you have improved during your experience? My weaknesses were like writing the scripts for the announcer to read of at the events and creating flyers. With that being said as time goes on I'm getting better at making flyers to hang up. I think I could have improved on social media side of things. I have social media but when it comes to running an official social media page for the University then things begin to start getting complicated. You cant just post anything on that social media page, it has to have a purpose and it must attract awareness on social media as well.
3. Do you feel you adequately satisfied the duties expected of you by the sponsoring organization? Why or why not? Yes, I feel this way because I did what was expected of me and more. When there was something someone didn't want to do I did it; I was that guy trying to do the dirty work.
4. Do you feel you adequately satisfied the time requirements (150 clock hours) of the internship? I'm not satisfied honestly; I wish I could complete more. This internship is free and I would do 300 hours of this internship for free because once again your getting paid for the experience. 'm learning new things every day, that's better than money to me because I could eventually take what I've learned and apply it and make more money than I would if i=this internship was paid.
5. What helpful suggestions would you make to future interns in your position? I would tell them to live for the opportunity and not to for the money! Don't get me wrong money is important but sometimes the opportunity itself can be more rewarding to one another.
6. What did you gain from your experience? How will this experience help you when you leave Tiffin University? I gained a lot of confidence in myself. I know that I can market myself well, build relationships with random people, and sometimes that's all you need is some confidence. Confidence is everything, without it your how can you believe in yourself? Some things I didn't think I could do but with the help of my team and with the help of our wonderful supervisor Lauren we got things done.
10. What overall grade do you feel you earned through your internship experience? _________ Justify your response. Overall, I think I deserve an A. Although I was given a second chance to regain my confidence, I think that's what made me realize that I better step it up. The experiences that I've had thus far are outrageous; and I owe it all up to Bonnie Tiel and Lauren Caminiti. This by far has been the best internship that I have had and also the most exciting experience Iv'e had while being in college.
